Silt Pusher
Silt pushing is extensively used in Holland with over a million cubic meters handled in 2007. The perforated dozer blade is mounted to the Conver silt pusher boat with hydraulic height and angle control. The blade is pulled through water, or on top of silt, by a powerful winch within the boat and 300m of cable tethered to the embankment beside the excavator. The operation is simple, fast and accurate, resulting in a clean and profiled bottom.
We envisage growing interest in this ‘one pass’ dredging system in the UK, especially at a time when traditional long reach excavation is recognized as ‘hit and miss’ and too reliant on the skills of the operator.
